Our School Ethos

Our staff are committed to providing quality public education and have high personal expectations. Our focus has been to reflect what is best in our community and to inspire in students a positive self-concept as well as a pride and a belief in their school. The school culture is founded upon a respect for tradition, recognition and encouragement of effort and preparation for success on graduating from school. In the day to day life of the school attention to detail (“the little things” matter) and “time and place” are important principles.

Our Staff

Beerwah State High School has 70 teaching staff and 30 support staff who are experienced and highly qualified. Current experience of staff at Beerwah High School is extensive.

There are more than fifteen Queensland Studies Authority Panel members and staff are receptive to and involved in performance development structures which focus on continuous professional improvement.

Our staff are involved in collaborative decision making processes; in addition to the School Council, committee structures exist which provide an avenue for staff involvement in decision-making.

Our staff are very experienced with a wide diversity of interests and talents. One of the distinguishing characteristics of our staff is their commitment to involve themselves in co-curricular and extra curricular activities. The average age of our staff is approximately late thirties to early forties.

Our School Leadership

The Principal is supported by two Deputy Principals, a Registrar, ten Heads of Department and two Heads of House in providing a comprehensive leadership structure for supporting students and managing all services. The school is organised into four sub schools as the basis for student support and welfare.

Our Facilities
