Beerwah State High School is leading by example in the area of School Based Traineeships and Apprenticeships.  Matthew Hayes who is a current Year 12 student, has been completing a Traineeship in IT at Beerwah High School since he began Year 11 in 2013.  Matthew has been under the guidance of Andrew McQuillan who is currently the Computer Technician completing many different roles:  Installing software for classroom computers, diagnosing and repairing laptops, replacing hard drives, assisting staff and students with computer problems.  Matthew has been combining both the traineeship and his schoolwork and has excelled in both areas.  Matthew’s trainer Miriam Scott from Barrington’s Training Group has said that it has been a pleasure to train Matthew and to see him develop the necessary skills which will assist Matthew in his future career pathway within Web Design.
