Laptop Hire Program

As a school, we have decided to provide two laptop programs for students to participate in to enable a true, equitable 1 to 1 learning experience.  The two programs that Beerwah State High School offer are the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program and the Laptop Hire Program, where students hire a school owned laptop for educational use at school and at home.

In 2020, a school laptop hire program will commence. The program will open first to interested Year 7 students then progress into other grades. There are a limited number of devices in the program. We hope to offer this program to all year levels by 2025.

All laptops used in this program are assigned to each individual student and will come standard with the schools Managed Operating Environment (Windows 10 for Education), filtered internet, access to the school network and access to school software.

Our school P&C has endorsed a co-contribution of $275 to be charged per device per annum (pro-rata based on enrolment) for the device hire. By paying the $275 fee students are guaranteed their own laptop for the school year (except over the Christmas holiday period).

How to apply for a Take Home Hire Laptop

Students must download and read the Student Laptop Hire Charter and return the attached Agreement Form.  The IT department will then build their personal laptop and advise them on daily notices when it is ready for collection.  Students will need to check daily notices to find out when their device is ready for collection.

Technical Support

Please advise the IT Department of all warranty issues, accidental damage, theft or loss as soon as the incident occurs.  The school will then contact the vendor to resolve the relevant issues, and your child will be provided with a day-loan laptop (subject to availability) for the duration of the repair.  Further information can be found in the Student Laptop Hire Charter
