From the Lions Club of Beerwah
The members of the Lions Club of Beerwah Inc. are very pleased to be part of the team involved in organising and presenting “SURGE High School Rock Spectacular." One of the Lions purposes states “To take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community." We believe that by being involved with this event, this purpose is being met well and truly.
The Lions service organisation has a long history of supporting the youth of our community. Lions Youth of the Year has been conducted locally over many years. Other projects are Leo Clubs for young people, Lions In-search which conducts programs for disadvantaged youth, Lions Youth Exchange and Youth Camps.
This event will provide an opportunity for our youth to display their talents and provide entertainment for the community. With guidance from Beerwah High School, the Club has been successful in obtaining a grant from the Sunshine Coast Council Major Grants Program. For this we are very grateful. We look forward to the event and wish the committee and performers every success.
