Encouraging our student leaders is one of our key goals this year.
While some people are natural born leaders, it is also important to guide students in their leadership development.
Leadership is about students finding and having a voice or an opportunity to share their beliefs and thoughts, it is about guiding others and encouraging others to be their best.
Beerwah SHS has a wonderful group of respectful and responsible young leaders who demonstrate high levels of integrity and leadership. Our leadership group includes our school captains, vice captains and house captains as well as our student council leaders. This year it is my privilege to work with these students to develop their leadership skills.
There are a few suggestions to do this:
- We encourage all leaders to have a voice and champion their cause.
- Kokoda Challenge is a youth based program aimed at keeping the spirit of Kokoda alive and embodies courage, endurance, mateship and sacrifice. https://www.kokodachallenge.com/
